Barriers to exercise

Barriers to exercise

Barriers to exercise and how to avoid them.

Obstacle 1st: I do not have time

Many of us claim that in our daily lives it is impossible to find time for systematic exercise. No problem! Tips for busy people:

Put 10 minutes of walking into your daily routine whenever you have a break. Aim for 30 minutes, even if they are broken up throughout the day.

Unlike the rest of the world, park a little further away, thus exercising without even thinking about it. This way you will find parking easier!

Clean your car, tend your garden, walk the dog, play with your kids!

We try on Saturday or Sunday to do some activity with those you love (family, friends). Such options are cycling, walking, rackets in the sea, 5×5 etc.

If you exercise on the weekend, you will definitely find time for a weekday or two. Three-four times a week is enough!

Obstacle 2nd: I'm exhausted after work

Try working out in the morning. Make your morning exercise as essential as your morning coffee!

Be aware that exercise does not deplete but instead increases your energy levels. Soon everyone will know if you worked out or not.

Put on your gym clothes and hit the treadmill with remote control in hand. Exercise time can be combined with your favorite show!

Forget the elevator and escalators and go everywhere with the stairs.

Obstacle 3rd: I get bored quickly

Find friends. You will not only get the benefit of exercise but you will also improve your social life.

Make a new activity. Start for example tennis or windsurfing lessons.

Variety. Do some days swimming, some walking, some basketball. Don't forget that exercise doesn't have to be boring to be good.

Obstacle 4th: I'm ashamed of my appearance

If you saw an overweight person riding a bicycle, would you think he looked funny? NO. So what are you waiting for?

Start by simply walking around your neighborhood. You will soon see how you can take more walks. If you are sociable you will notice that most of the people walking had health problems. So don't wait to get them to exercise.

Don't try to be the athlete you never were. Instead, remember that exercise reduces stress, improves endurance, strengthens the heart and bones, and reduces the risk of many diseases. Plus, the less athletic you are, the more you'll feel the beneficial benefits of exercise.

So find a friend who is in a similar physical condition. You will spend pleasant hours while helping each other to get fit.

Plan your exercise as you would for a serious meeting and don't cancel it with anything. Humans are not made to spend their lives lying on the couch in front of a television. We are born with a body, which must last a lifetime.
