The drink of immortality

The drink of immortality

Known since ancient times for its medicinal properties aloe vera, was also known as the herb of immortality. The combination of honey it is considered a miracle worker for stomach problems and for this at the end of the short review of the two ingredients, there follows a recipe for a wonderful decoction of aloe and thyme honey, so that you can enjoy their beneficial potential to the maximum.

Aloe vera

For the first time, the virtues of genuine aloe were recognized around 5,000 years ago. So it is no great discovery. The Ancient Egyptians depicted it in their hieroglyphs, the Greeks, the Persians, the Babylonians and the Romans used it to treat wounds, while Christopher Columbus wrote: "Four plants are essential for human health: wheat, vine, olive and aloe vera. The first nourishes him, the second revives his spirit, the third gives him harmony, the fourth heals him."

In addition to its (many) other beneficial properties, aloe vera juice is excellent for the digestive system. Aloe vera has an essential effect on disorders of the digestive system such as heartburn, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome. In particular, it soothes the esophagus and reduces the discomfort of gastroesophageal reflux. At the same time, aloe helps to improve the functioning of the intestine and for this reason it is considered very effective in dealing with constipation, in combination of course with proper nutrition and hydration.

Thyme honey

Honey on the other hand and especially thyme is an equally valuable food, also famous since ancient times for its tonic and antiseptic properties. Nectar and ambrosia are said to have fed the Olympian gods, while the ancient Greeks used it in many of their recipes, mainly with pork. The nutritional value of honey is invaluable and was recognized by all the doctors of antiquity, first of all the father of medicine, Hippocrates, who recommended the use of honey as a medicine for many diseases.

Thyme honey has a preventive effect on cardiovascular disorders, but it also has a beneficial effect on diseases of the urinary and digestive systems. Thyme is considered a top beekeeping plant, because it gives a highly aromatic honey with great nutritional value. Thyme contains an essential oil whose main component is thymol (percentages above 25%) which was a natural predecessor of modern antibiotics. In 1967, the German chemist Duisberg, seeking to determine the action of honey as a medicine, reached the following medical conclusions:

1) Honey prevents fatigue and this is achieved by storing the fructose it contains in the liver as glycogen. There it is converted into glucose, thus increasing its content in the blood. Facilitates the assimilation of calcium, activates ossification.
2) It cures or relieves internal disorders, stomach ulcers, insomnia, sore throats, some heart diseases and generally has a beneficial effect on the heart, increases blood hemoglobins and muscle strength.

3) In external use, it treats burns, wounds and nasopharyngeal diseases thanks to inhidin, which gives it bacteriostatic properties.
Honey is not another sweetener like sugar. It is a unique product of its kind, rich in nutrients, aroma and taste. In particular, thyme honey is one of the finest varieties in the world. The best regions for thyme honey production are considered to be the Greek islands.

The smoothie that heals the stomach

Hippocrates recommended mead, i.e. warm water with a spoonful of honey, as the best breakfast. In this way you will feel well-being for many hours and at the same time your body is guaranteed a healthy longevity. But its combination with aloe vera can multiply the benefits for the body and especially for the digestive system. The process of making a drink with nature's two most precious gifts is easy. You will need one tablespoon of honey with 60% or 80% FoodsCross Thyme Pollen and Aloe Vera Gel.

First we choose a thick outer leaf near the base of the aloe plant. Wash it in pieces and leave it in a basin of water for one night. In the morning, remove the green hard skin of the aloe leaf and with a knife or spoon collect the jelly. Put this jelly in a blender together with a cup of water and a full tablespoon of honey with 80% or even 60% thyme pollen. We beat until we achieve a smooth and delicious smoothie. We enjoy this drink three times a day before each main meal. In combination with a balanced diet even severe problems of gastritis and ulcers can be treated within two or three weeks.
