And I, who have combination skin, in which category do I fall?
So to answer, it's not exactly a skin type but a combination!
Hmm… sounds interesting! I mean?
There are certain periods during the year when our skin does not behave according to its type or when, due to specific processes, some areas of the face react or behave strangely.
Testimony 1st: I was and still am oily but after 6 months of using acne meds, the skin on my cheeks and temples feels ready to break out..
Testimony 2nd: My skin has always been dehydrated, but lately, and especially since I entered the pre-menopausal stage, I feel it pulling more strongly...it seems that its elasticity has decreased..
Testimony 3rd: For as long as I can remember, my skin has always been hyper-reactive and reddened at the slightest thing. But lately I feel very dehydrated.
And I could mention so much more and so much more…
- So in the first testimony, while the woman was oily-acneic (prone to acne), the drug severely dehydrated her in an attempt to control this over-production of sebum, and so now she has a formula:
Fat-dehydrated=Sufficient lipids but reduced moisture (reduced water) - In the second testimony, while the woman had a dehydrated skin, from the moment her hormonal map changed she feels that it has worsened.
What type does it have: Dry-dehydrated=Lack of lipids but also water - In the last testimony now, it is the case of a woman with sensitive skin where for some reasons, (possibly stress), the skin started to dehydrate and tighten even more.
What type does he have: sensitive-dehydrated=Reduced defense and endurance due to lack of lipids and water
What do we conclude from all of the above?
That mixed skin is finally a combination of 2 skin types!
And what really should be made clear is that at any moment the skin type can change - change, for better or for worse. Not radically, but certainly to an extent that makes us wonder. It is the most common type that we can meet outside. That's why in professional spaces, we usually apply the multi-masking method, treating each zone separately according to its needs!
Let's not forget that our skin is really the mirror of our inner world!
The "chemistry" that prevails internally is reflected on our skin with great success!
Take care of it both inside and out and you won't miss out!
