Beauty recipes with honey

That honey it is beneficial for the skin. It moisturizes effectively, has antibacterial properties, nourishes and regenerates the skin, while it is also anti-inflammatory and relieves irritation and itching. For all these reasons it is a popular ingredient in homemade beauty recipes. We've rounded up the 15 best:

Face masks

  1. For a simple one moisturizing μάσκα, απλώνουμε μια λεπτή στρώση μελιού σε όλο το πρόσωπο και την αφήνουμε για 15-20 λεπτά. Αφαιρούμε με hot water.
  2. Mix a teaspoon of honey with a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and a couple of drops of lavender essential oil. We gently massage it on the face. Relax for 15-20 minutes and rinse with warm water.
  3. For smoother and brighter skin, we use an equal dose of honey and lemon juice to make a lotion to apply to the face and neck. Leave for about 10 minutes before removing with cold water.
  4. For a more even skin tone: chop two tablespoons of fresh parsley and beat in a blender with the yolk of an egg. Then add a tablespoon of honey. Mix well. Apply a thick layer to the face and neck and leave for about 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. This mask is considered to help a lot with both black spots and wrinkles.
  5. For peeling, we combine a teaspoon of sugar and a tablespoon of honey with a spoon of carbonated mineral water. Gently rub the face with this mask for a few minutes and remove by washing with warm water.

Tonic lotions

  1. This homemade lotion tones the skin of the face: put two tablespoons of chamomile (or a sachet) in a cup of boiling water. Let it release its aroma for about 10 minutes. We drain. Add a tablespoon of honey and 2-6 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix well until the honey dissolves. Pour the liquid into a glass bottle that will last for about a month. We spread it with cotton all over the face every day after cleansing. Don't forget to finish with a good moisturizer.
  2. Cucumber is amazing for toning the skin and it gets even better when combined with honey. Peel and chop a medium cucumber. We make a paste by beating it in the blender and drain it over a bowl using a tupani (special cloth used for draining cheeses). About 15 minutes later, we take the juice we collected and pour it into a bottle where we add two teaspoons of honey. If necessary, heat the honey for a few seconds in a microwave oven to make it more fluid. Shake the bottle well and apply the lotion to the face, neck and décolleté with cotton. It is kept in the refrigerator.

For the eyes

  1. Immerse a sachet of chamomile in boiling water and leave it until it cools. In a blender, beat at low speed two spoons of cucumber (cleaned of skin and seeds), one tablespoon of aloe vera gel and half a spoon of honey. Add the chamomile and mix until you have a smooth mixture. With the finger, gently apply to the area around the eyes. Keeps in the fridge for a week. It is excellent for puffiness under the eyes.

For the bathroom

  1. Mix one cup of sea salt with one cup of powdered milk, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and half a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder. Put this mixture in a glass jar. Fill the tub and pour about 1/4 cup of the mixture into the water. Then add about 1 cup of honey.
  2. For body exfoliation, mash two small oranges and mix them with two cups of yogurt, two tbsp. honey and three tbsp. coffee beans. Rub this mixture gently all over the body in the shower and rinse. With this formula, we remove dead cells while the coffee beans also help to deal with cellulite as they increase the flow and circulation of blood in the massage area.
  3. The emulsion we make by mixing half a cup of poppy seeds with a cup of yogurt, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1/4 cup honey promises exfoliation and shine. Spread all over the body and rinse in the shower. Poppy seeds have anti-inflammatory properties and are very beneficial in cases of rashes and irritations. Cleopatra's secrets

The Egyptian Queen took special care of her skin with donkey milk baths with honey and almond essential oils. Do it like Cleopatra by pouring 3 cups of milk, half a cup of honey and 5 tsp. almond oil or olive oil. For the face Cleopatra used green grape pulp with honey, while for the hair she made a mask with 3 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp. castor oil - apply to wet hair for 5-15 minutes and rinse leaving it shiny and soft. Finally, to moisturize the face, make Cleopatra's cream by heating beeswax with 1 tbsp. almond oil until liquefied, then add 2 tbsp. aloe vera and 4 drops of rose water. After it cools, it can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week.

We thank her very much foodscross
