It is only 1 hour from Athens and offers us everything we need to have a good time. This is our nearby Loutraki, where we can visit its famous casino, relax in its thermal waters, visit historical destinations located in the surrounding area, enjoy evenings out and delicious lunches in its seaside restaurants.
The dream Nafplio is next. We may have visited it many times but it is never enough. Be tempted to climb the 999 steps to Palamidi and admire the view of the city from above. Take a photo in front of Bourtzi, the fortress located on the islet of the port and enjoy walking through the beautiful town with its amazing shops.
Don't forget to drink your coffee in the well-known Syntagma Square, which is one of the well-known meeting points of the area.

Another destination, ideal for this time of year, is the picturesque and quiet Galaxidi. It is located a little further from Athens, that is, the journey will take about 2.5 hours, but the destination will definitely compensate you.
Visit the temple of Agia Paraskevi and see the zodiac and Spilia, the natural vaulted cave of the area. The coastal road of Galaxidi is the ideal place for romantic walks by the sea.

If the weather is still warm enough visit the pebble beaches. It is still worth admiring the traditional mansions with their unique architecture and of course tasting the local delicacies in the village taverns.
Another nearby and ideal destination for the autumn season is Kalamata. Its distance from the capital is only two and a half hours and the route is excellent. Ask the hotel to stay in a sea view room.
Visit the city's castle and discover places to eat and drink away from the center and the crowds. You will find that it was really worth it.
A little further but more enchanting, don't miss Spetses, the well-known shipowners' paradise. After the end of the summer, the excessive tourism of the island is reduced and thus there is a possibility for beautiful carriage rides or on foot.
