Certainly everyone athletes have wondered sometime What can swimmers do to be more focused in training? The trials they have to cope with swimmers on a daily basis are many:
-The daily refinement of the technical characteristics of swimming...
-The battle with ourselves and the uncertainty that comes with pushing ourselves…
-Staying away from frustration when a workout is too hard….
The process of sculpting a champion never ends…!
HOW FOCUSED ARE YOU IN TRAINING?
Do you go into the pool completely focused on what you have to do and how and how well you will do it, or are you like the rest of the "common mortals" who struggle to concentrate?
Becoming a more focused swimmer won't automatically make you an Olympian but it will help you quite a bit to… :
-... you are more focused on swimming.
-…being able to manipulate yourself into thinking about the things that matter most to you.
-?..to be able to swim faster.
ATTENTION IS NOT LOST, IT IS JUST... "MISCOVERED"
Our attention is like a three-year-old child, no matter how much we try to control her, she wants to explode, make us think about other things and generally does not want to be with us, with our goals.
This is normal, so don't beat yourself up, don't think too much about it, just try to bring her back to the present.
OUR COLLECTION VARY ACCORDING TO THE SITUATION
In training we tend to focus on technique.
An analytical way of thinking is useful in this case. But when we are in the race we have to focus on our performance to have a clear mind.
IF YOU THINK ABOUT THE PRESENT OR THE PAST YOUR ATTENTION IS GONE
Swimmers often confuse being focused with overanalyzing things. When you focus on how last month's race went, your focus on what you need to do today quickly diminishes.
SIMULATE THE MATCH IN TRAINING
Why wait to feel the feeling of competition until it's game time?
Do frequent match simulations during training.
This will help you when it's finally time to race.
What can swimmers do?

ANXIETY MAKES CONCENTRATION DIFFICULT
Because of stress we consume a lot of energy, which we need to stay focused. That's why we're more likely to give up when we're stressed. When you start worrying about how other athletes are performing or what your parents think it takes your attention away from the things that really help you perform.
MARK THE MOMENTS OF YOUR GREATEST GATHERING
The self-awareness that comes with noting what you were focused on when you had your best swim will give you a backlog of thoughts for those moments when you feel lost.
PAUSE FOR THOUGHTS
What can you do when thoughts that do not help you affect your concentration and by extension your swimming? Use the thought pause. There is no implication in what I am telling you. You must literally stop this unnecessary thinking with a body signal of your choosing.
It can be something as simple as clenching your fist or cleaning the inside of your glasses. You can also use a default password. This sign will refresh you mentally and put an end to disturbing thoughts. Better to choose something simple.
GATHER AND UPGRADE YOUR SWIMMING
Being focused will make your workout more enjoyable. You will also improve your technique and your performance. The confidence that comes with these two elements results in a better swimmer.
