Before and after waxing the skin needs a preparation a special care for what will be done to the skin and the same care will be needed afterwards.
Before the candle…
– If the pain of waxing worries you, you can take paracetamol 30 to 40 minutes before your appointment.
– The hairs should be at least 0.5 cm from the root to get the desired effect.
After the candle…
Immediately after the wax, it's normal to experience some kind of redness with rashes on your skin due to the hair being removed from the root with pressure, but it will only last a few hours due to the histamine.
It is important after waxing to keep the area clean and free of bacteria, because the pores are open we must avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas for at least 24 hours, sunbathing for at least 12 hours, lotions, perfumes and lubricants that can give you a burning sensation. Use an antibacterial product.
Avoid exercise and extreme heat as heat and sweat can amplify the bacteria causing breakouts and irritation in the open pores.
3-10 days after
As your skin closes over the follicles, the next consideration is to ensure that the ingrown hair is prevented. This is the time when the new (softer) hair gets trapped under the skin.
Use a soft glove for peeling every 2-3 days. This is important to start on the 3rd day after hair removal.
In the shower use a product with lactic acid to help remove dead cells, and avoid it hot water. Waxing lasts about 3-6 weeks.
