Double chin and beauty: do they go together?

Double chin and beauty: do they go together?

If your double chin is bothering you, there may be things you can do, without the need for any invasive plastic surgery…

We all know about the double chin. It happens when excess fat accumulates under our jawline, but it is not necessarily associated with obesity. Heredity or having loose skin due to aging are equally strong possibilities.

And, sure, the only scientifically proven solution to getting rid of a double chin is some mildly invasive surgery, we have nothing to lose – especially if our double chin is not genetic – by trying the following techniques.

…with exercise

The following exercises can better strengthen and tone the muscles and skin of the area. Do them daily, for 10-15 times.

Tilt your head back so you're looking at the ceiling. Push your jaw forward until you feel a pull. Count to 10 and return to your starting position.

Tilt your head back, and purse your lips to stretch the area under the chin. Hold for a few seconds and return to the starting position.

Looking forward, stick out your tongue and stretch it as far as possible. Lift it up for 10 seconds.

...with nutrition

If your double chin is due to weight gain, losing weight will definitely help. Try to improve your diet and exercise regularly. Some rules for better nutrition are as follows:

Eat at least four servings of vegetables daily:

Eat at least three servings of fruit daily

Replace refined carbohydrates with whole grains

Avoid processed foods

Eat lean protein sources such as poultry and fish

Eat healthy fats such as olive oil, avocados and nuts

Avoid fried foods

Cut down on sugar

Be more mindful of your portion sizes
