Neda Yoga Shala
Neda Yoga Shala is a place of Yoga training and practice.
Its purpose is to give a trigger, supplies and strength of soul to each one of us to look inside and learn about our Self.
Our vision is, honoring the tradition of yoga, to convey in a practical, simple and honest way its essence: Within us there is a magical world very worthy of exploration.
And the closer we get to the inside, the better we connect with the outside, the people and nature around us.
Thus comes the state of Yoga (Union) and with it, a growing trend for inner exploration and an inexhaustible inspiration for Life!
The Nymph Neda
In Greek mythology, Neda, the 3rd eldest daughter of Oceanus, was a Nymph and mother of the 4 ancient muses.
Nymphs were beautiful female creatures, spirits of nature, symbols of grace and protectors of youth! They lived in the caves and in the rivers where all day long they cried and sang in their sweet voices the praises of the Olympian gods.
They roamed the mountains, accompanying Artemis and playing with her. They danced with Pan and the goddess Aphrodite in the meadows and on the slopes. They lived very long and fed on ambrosia. They were dreamlike and magical forms. It was considered dangerous to encounter them, and there are many legends about "fairy-possessed".
Neda, like many nymphs, was a deity of waters and rivers.
The myth says that as soon as Zeus was born, his mother Rhea gave him to Neda and two other nymphs to protect him from her husband Cronus. Because at that time Arcadia was arid and Rhea wanted to bathe her son, she struck the Earth with her staff begging Gaia for water.
Thus, a rich spring came out and the river that was created was named Neda. It is one of two Greek rivers with a female name.
Hatha Yoga: A 2-hour inner journey that combines dynamic asana (practice) with an emphasis on self-observation and maintaining equanimity, along with breathing exercises, meditation, mantra recitation and often yoga nidra (deep relaxation). The direction is that all these techniques are not a goal, but on the contrary, tools and occasions to know and connect with ourselves.
Gentle Morning Yoga: A soft and gentle class with static exercises which are mainly done on the floor in a lying or sitting position. Ideal for beginners and students with injuries. Breathing exercises and guided meditation are also included.
Dynamic Yoga: is a useful therapeutic method for strengthening the body and promoting body awareness. It is a complete health system, simple and friendly for every body. Its benefits vary on many levels (flexibility, strength, endurance and mental health) where everyone can set an achievable goal.
Yin yang yoga: Through a combination of gentle and dynamic exercises we will try to bring our male and female energy into harmony, in order to achieve balance on all levels, physical, mental, emotional and mental. During the year we will try to taste many aspects of yoga so that each practitioner can experience what is right for them and keep it as a guide on their own path.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga: A fairly dynamic class that includes a specific sequence of asanas (exercises), the same each time, which is performed in a flow. The emphasis is on synchronizing movement and breathing, bandhas and gaze. The 1st series is taught and possibly the 2nd, depending on the level of the students.
Kids Yoga: Yoga for kids is an alternative exercise method based on the body structure and mental development of children by age. It is based on recreational exercises (asanas) and interactive games. Its main goal is to strengthen their self-confidence and self-esteem: a sense of euphoria and respect for others and love for ourselves.
Parents & Babies: Baby yoga meets the separate needs of mother and baby at the same time, but also the most important one: To be together! The baby discovers the world in the safety of its mother's arms and the mother slowly reconnects with her body after the experience of childbirth. She takes care of herself by taking care of her baby, and thus increases her confidence as a new mother (suitable for babies from 7 weeks to 18 months).
