The Institute for the Study and Research of Reflexology Education (imera) was created with the aim of:
* the study of health treatment known as reflexology or reflexology
* contributing to the development of reflexology research and documentation
* the development and dissemination of best practices in its application
We consider it important to raise awareness and inform citizens and health professionals of all disciplines about the possibilities and benefits of using non-pharmacological complementary treatments such as reflexology, in maintaining and improving quality of life and well-being, in prevention, promotion and restoration of health, in the treatment of pain as well as in the reduction of excessive and unnecessary drug intake.
The main focus of the Institute's activities is to provide access to scientifically documented information to all citizens, to specialists, to bodies responsible for health issues. It is of paramount importance to reduce ignorance or confusion about the possibilities of reflexology, to protect citizens from incorrect and/or incomplete information and to establish confidence in the safety and reliability of the method.
The main concern of the Institute is the planning and implementation of programs and actions to support, support and continuously inform reflexology practitioners.
At the same time, we consider it necessary to develop, promote and implement public services and undertake social solidarity initiatives and actions, within the scope of the Institute's knowledge.
In the Institute for Study and Research of Reflexology Education, private individuals and organizations who have an interest in the above purposes and wish to participate in their fulfillment can register as auxiliary members.
The cooperation with institutions, associations, research centers and institutions, academic and non-academic, scientists, experts, practitioners of the Greek and international fields, is a priority for the fulfillment of the Institute's goals.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary, hands-on health treatment based on the interaction of reflex points with corresponding areas and organs of the body. It is applied to specific points, mainly on the feet and hands, through special pressures and frictions, enhancing the proper functioning of the relevant organs and anatomical structures of the body.
