Alma Pilates
Alma pilates, in an elegant and ideally bright environment, shaped according to the belief that the first feeling of the space should be in harmony with the desired result of the exercise itself, offers many different types of classes, depending on the desire and needs of the student, always taking into account his anatomical peculiarities, and emphasizing personalized training, regardless of whether it is a group (group) or private (private) lesson.
Rocio Carrasco-Fonseca and Polly Fokas, founding members of the Hellenic Pilates Association, were trained in Athens by the studio Corpus Ray, directly cooperating with Power Pilates of New York. Their training was based on the principles of the classical (modeled after Pilates himself), systematic (with a specific order and structure of exercises), and comprehensive (using all the instruments) Pilates method. They keep abreast of developments and the various schools of Pilates, actively participating in seminars for both Power Pilates and other schools, such as Peak, Basi and Stott Pilates. By assimilating and evaluating modern trends, they select the appropriate application of the method each time, so that the unprecedented sense of balance, strength and well-being that the Pilates method provides as a whole is always achieved.
LESSONS
- COURSES IN MATTRESSES: UP TO 6 PEOPLE
In this class the student performs the 34 original exercises that Pilates created to be performed on the mat. It is divided into three levels, beginner, intermediate, advanced. The teacher can use small instruments, such as weights, straps, circles, etc., depending on the ability of the students and the points he wants to emphasize.
- TOWER KAI WUNDA CHAIR GROUP LESSONS: UP TO 6 PEOPLE
In the tower/chair classes we start with a series of mat exercises for warming up and continue with the use of tower-chairs, performing exercises with the resistance of the springs.
It is not recommended for beginners because the use of springs needs control on the part of the student, and therefore a relative knowledge of the method.
A fairly advanced class for people who have been doing Pilates for years would be to perform exercises only on the wunda chair.
- HMI-SPECIAL LESSONS: FROM 2 TO 3 PEOPLE
In this type of lesson, the same exercises are followed as in the special ones with the use of all the instruments (reformer, cadillac, mat, chair). Here, while the teacher remains one, the athletes may be two or three, of approximately the same level. It is not recommended for beginners or people with health problems (eg back, neck, knee), as the teacher's attention is divided and there is no possibility and time to analyze the exercises for each individual. But once the student has grasped the basics of the method, it can become a very enjoyable lesson with fun and interaction due to the noble rivalry.
This lesson is done with an athlete and a teacher. If you choose it, you will follow a series of exercises, both on the mattress and on the instruments: reformer, cadillac, ladder barrel and chair (wunda and high), depending on your needs.
We recommend this kind of course to those who come into contact with the method for the first time, and especially with the instruments, to understand better and faster how to work their body.
It is also indicated for those who have a health problem, as well as for those who wish to progress very quickly in the method.
