In several countries abroad, there is legislation that defines the ages and sporting events in which swimmers are allowed to wear new technology swimwear. Most trainers agree with these kinds of regulations, since they seem to believe the popular saying that breeds don't make the pope.
But apart from the belief in popular philosophy there are many other thoughts on the specific subject.
1. It's all about technique
A sophisticated swimsuit is not one that will enhance or hinder a young swimmer. The correct technique and way of swimming, as well as the fact that children grow stronger as they grow, are the elements that will make them fast swimmers.
2. Enjoy the process
If we parents constantly focus only on the result, then the pleasure and satisfaction that children get from the sport is minimized. By buying state-of-the-art swimwear, all we achieve is to emphasize time.
3. Swimwear is not magic
Our children should enjoy the time they spend with their friends in the pool. We want them to love swimming and remain athletes for many more years. They don't need to feel like there is a magical swimsuit that will give them success and forget about their hard work and effort.
4. Earning the reward
A nice idea is for the swimwear-technological achievement to act as a motivation for the athlete's participation in major sporting events. There are clubs that offer such swimsuits for free when their swimmers manage to earn a place in major meets through their hard work. The reward along with the preparation, which for the first time becomes so exciting, is what will put wings on their feet for faster runs.
