Murad
When Dr. Murad began creating formulas to help his patients, his research showed three fundamental skin problems that each formula had to address, no matter what treatment it was intended for.
Moisturizing ingredients
Because the most common skin problem is dehydration, Dr Murad has added key moisturizing ingredients to each of his formulas. These ingredients improve the skin's ability to absorb and retain water, both at the upper layers of the epidermis and at the cellular level. To maximize effectiveness, Dr Murad often adds to topical products hydrophilic ingredients such as sodium PCA and hyaluronic acid, as well as lipophilic ingredients such as free fatty acids and ceramides.
Anti-inflammatory ingredients
Because inflammation can cause redness, swelling, and destruction of skin tissue, as well as the creation of cell-damaging free radicals, Dr. Murad added anti-inflammatory ingredients to all of his products. These ingredients give Murad topical products the ability to soothe and calm the skin and, in combination with nutritional supplements, reduce chronic inflammation that can lead to serious skin and body-wide problems. Licorice extract, arnica, and zinc are some of the common anti-inflammatories that Dr. Murad.
Antioxidant ingredients
The last but perhaps most important problem is free radical damage. Whether created by the effect of UV radiation and other environmental factors, or by internal pathogens, metabolic factors, or inflammation, free radicals are constantly attacking skin cells and throughout the body. By adding antioxidant ingredients that fight free radicals, Dr Murad has managed to offer an entirely different level of protection against cellular damage. Additionally, in addition to well-known antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, Dr Murad has incorporated into his products powerful herbal antioxidants used in traditional medicine, such as yellow rhizome, goji-berry, pomegranate and durian.
The new super fruit of beauty
The exotic durian fruit is found in Southeast Asia and has been part of the Asian diet for centuries due to its nutritious and nutrient-rich composition. It contains unprecedented levels of essential fatty acids and antioxidants, suitable for the treatment of inflammation, as well as lipids necessary to maintain cellular hydration. In conclusion, the entire Murad "recipe" is contained in this fruit, since it contains moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant ingredients, thus restoring the wear and tear of aging signs & helping the skin to remain youthful.
The power of the pomegranate
Pomegranate extract is one of the most active antioxidants present in the modern skin care arsenal because it contains oleic acid, an ingredient that neutralizes free radicals in the best way and at the same time stimulates the body's production mechanisms of an antioxidant, glutathione. Its use in enhancing the SPF protection index is also important because it protects the skin with its anti-aging and anti-cancer properties, while it also contains punicic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid ω-5, which has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Concentrated power
Goji Berry is a Himalayan plant and its extract is enriched in vitamin C up to 100 times more than orange, as well as 20 times more B carotene than carrot!
Dr Murad uses it as the main active ingredient in the Redness Therapy® range of products, because it provides protection to the skin, deeply hydrates it and at the same time helps to reduce skin inflammation.
