      "Petit Grecs"

"Petits Grecs" is based in Thessaloniki and has been operating since 2014.
It was started by a group of people passionate about Greek, homemade sweets. Searching for old, classic recipes, we started a sweet culinary journey through time and were determined to make our own delicious and nutritious recipes. Perhaps nostalgic for the times when every housewife had her own "best" recipe of which she was proud.
Our companion in this endeavor was chef Andreas Lagos who shared our passion and led us on interesting culinary paths. We thank him. andreaslagos.com
All "Petits Grecs" products are produced in Greece in a facility that is ISO22000 certified and meets all European Union Food regulations.
      The story of the courabie
The root of the word kurabies comes from Kuru which means dry and biye which means cookie. Its origin is presumed to be Turkish and "passed" into the Greek language during the period of the Ottoman Empire.
Kourabies is an integral part of Greek home confectionery and the original recipe has been the "apple of contention" for many regions. But apart from the various regions, kourabies was also a very "personal" sweet of every housewife. Each one had their own "secret" recipe that was the best and tastiest of all and was proudly passed down from generation to generation. This is how the countless smaller or larger variations that one finds in the various parts of Greece are explained.

Meet the "Petits Grecs" courabier in 4 flavors

Based on the recipe from Kavala, which is considered by many to be the "authentic" and the tastiest, our goal was to make an even more nutritious recipe. So we changed its ingredients and put more caramelized almonds, less, more balanced amount of powdered sugar on the outside, extra virgin olive oil and pure, fresh butter, which gives a sweet aroma and a rich, full flavor.

Staying true to tradition, we added our own "touch" and ended up presenting, in addition to the classic vanilla recipe, three more flavors: one with Greek coffee, one with cinnamon and one with anise.

"Petits Grecs" kourabies is a handmade, 100% natural, nutritious side dish for coffee and tea, as well as a pleasant sweet dessert.

Before serving, add a little extra powdered sugar. The visual effect will be better!
