Oriental Medicine and Shiatsu Training Center
The Oriental Medicine and Shiatsu Training Center is a pioneering training center in the methods of natural healing and traditional oriental medicine.
It was founded in Athens in 1994 by Ilaira Bouratinos as a therapeutic and educational center, alongside the Greek branch of the European Shiatsu School.
OM's activities are followed by a wide range of people with a common interest in health. They are addressed both to health professionals and to those interested in the general public, who are looking for alternative or complementary health treatments.
The level of various methods of non-conventional medicine is steadily improving, as more medical and paramedical institutions incorporate various complementary and alternative methods into their treatment programs. The result is that there is an ever-increasing need to establish higher professional criteria for non-conventional medicine.
Om's vision is to offer high-level professional resources, providing aspiring therapists with comprehensive knowledge of relevant theory and practice. It encourages students to develop into mature and responsible therapists, who regularly re-evaluate their work, thus broadening their understanding of health issues. It thus responds in the best way to the ever-increasing demands of modern teaching.
Om also promotes the dissemination of natural healing and traditional Eastern medicine methods in Greece and places particular importance on informing the public on health issues.
