Horos-Space
The purpose of "Space" is to help us remember the bright side of ourselves.
Choros is an association whose goals are human-centered. It deals with actions related to balancing, harmonizing, healing and human development through a holistic approach. It supports the equal existence of the spiritual, mental and material existence of man. It seeks to identify ways through which these three hypostases can be in harmonious communication with each other and with the modern age. The actions of the space are divided into two categories:
Holistic fitness
By the term "Holistic Fitness" we mean the training of the body when it is in communication with its mental and mental world. One of the main goals of this workout, apart from strengthening the body, is awareness of the body's energy. The space hosts the following holistic fitness classes: Yoga and Pilates
Natural, complementary therapies
By the term "Natural, Complementary Therapies" we mean the methods of human care, in a natural way. They help in the holistic harmonization of the organism, i.e. in the balance of the body, the soul, the spirit, in the strengthening of the organism and in the development of its ability to heal. In combination with classical medicine, they help the body to heal effectively, treating both the symptoms and the cause of the condition. In the "Space" the following methods of natural complementary therapies are applied: Reflexology, Electroacupuncture, Holistic Nutrition Consultation and Shiatsu.
LESSONS
It is aimed at people with motor-anatomical peculiarities, people who have been injured and are in the process of rehabilitation, people with chronic musculoskeletal or other organic problems, the elderly and those who would like to participate in a slow hatha yoga class so that they have the time to experience the asanas (body postures) more internally. The course offers all the benefits offered by hatha yoga classes. The main characteristics of the course are the slow pace and the personalization of the asanas (the variation of body postures) depending on the case of each person.
This course contributes to revitalization, detoxification of the body, development of breathing capacity, well-being of the mind, energy balancing, exercise, restoration and balancing of imbalances and old injuries. It is more focused on energy perception and is easy to follow for people who want to do yoga for energy balancing or healing reasons or want to exercise. The pace of the class is moderate and the fitness dynamic is also moderate.
The content of the course is the same as that of Hatha yoga but differs in the way it is conducted. All the asanas (body positions) are done continuously (without stopping), applying many times vinyasa (a series of asanas coordinated with the breath). It can be attended by people who are familiar with hatha yoga and people who are in the beginning stages of yoga but are familiar with physical exercise. The pace of the class is fast and the fitness dynamics intense.
All levels of "Space" hatha yoga can be experienced in this class. Key elements of the course are combination, adaptability and deepening. Students who are used to vigorous physical exercise are given the opportunity to delve into simple asanas and gain a greater understanding of how they work in their bodies, while those who exercise gently are able to approach and experience asanas that they would not normally study in a class. with gentle exercise dynamics. The dynamics of the course and its pace are determined each time by the students.
The course focuses more on pranayama exercises (breathing exercises), bandha (energy locks), and meditative exercises, it aims at deep relaxation, the practice of concentration of the mind and the energy management of our bodies. Emphasis is placed on and analysis of elements related to the psychological and energetic dimension of man. The information and experiences gained can be applied along with the asanas in the rest of the yoga classes, so that the practice of hatha yoga is more complete. The course is free of charge, it can be attended by all members and non-members of the "Space".
Pilates treats the body as a whole and develops strong and flexible muscles, rather than allowing each muscle group to individually strengthen and bulk up unsightly. A characteristic element of the method is the control of the muscles without tension and strain. In this way the natural movement and natural rhythm of the body is released, so the muscles are relaxed without losing their strength. Effortless and natural breathing is an integral part of the exercises. The center of the body, abdomen, waist, hips and buttocks are the core of the movements. All the energy for every movement starts from here and flows to the extremities. With Pilates, stability is developed in the trunk, in the pelvis, the movement of the spine is improved and we gain greater muscle control. In this way, injuries are avoided and relief from any pain in various parts of the body [back, waist, neck, etc.] is brought about. The difficulty of the exercises increases incrementally so that the muscles are properly prepared and the goal is achieved, which is to train the whole body without unnecessary movements and effort, bringing overall well-being to the body.
TREATMENTS
Reflexology is a method of natural complementary therapy. It helps our body to relax, to acquire physical and mental well-being, to balance its energy, to stimulate its defense system, to strengthen its ability to heal the diseases that afflict it. How Reflexology Works All over the surface of the feet, hands, ears and other parts of the body there are points that each correspond to a specific organ or a specific area of the body. These points are called Reflective Points. If special massage or pressure techniques are applied to a Reflex Point, the organ or the area of the body associated with it is activated, it relaxes and in the event of a problem, the body's self-healing action is mobilized.
Electroacupuncture is a natural complementary treatment method. It is based on the general principles of ancient Chinese medicine and acupuncture and is applied to the body's meridians and acupuncture points. According to ancient Chinese medicine the "meridians" are energy flow channels in our body and the "acupuncture points" are areas, on the meridians, where we can intervene and manage the energy. In case of injury or illness there is an imbalance in the flow of energy in our body. In an electroacupuncture session we apply a current of minimum intensity to the acupuncture points of the meridians, which are associated with the corresponding problem of the body. In this way we restore the correct flow of energy in the meridians, discharge the area and help the body to heal. Electroacupuncture does not use needles, it is applied to the surface of the skin without needles penetrating it.
Holistic Nutrition is a way of observing and studying food, naturally and from a universal perspective. In addition to the composition of foods and their nutritional values, on a material level, it takes into account the shape, color, of each food, its relationship with the season and the environment in which it grows. Depending on the shapes and colors that each food has, it can coordinate us energetically and give us elements, not only nutritious but that concern us holistically. For example Triangular foods help us communicate with ourselves and other people. Circular foods help us to be creative, to obtain harmonious energy and to regenerate primary energy. Straight foods help us to have duration, course, flow. All this information can help us in proper nutrition in balancing our weight in detoxifying our body, in various diseases, in harmonizing our body.
The practice of Shiatsu was developed in Japan at the beginning of the 20th century and has been recognized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan as a medical treatment. Shiatsu means finger pressure (from shi meaning finger and atsu meaning pressure). But it utilizes a variety of different techniques such as stretching, joint mobilizations and massages. It is based on the ancient system of Traditional Eastern and Chinese Medicine such as Acupuncture and Qigong (Chi Kung). Chinese Medicine gives the practitioner of shiatsu the ability to observe imbalances in the flow of energy and dysfunctions of the body. In this way, it takes care to correct any disorders before they manifest or consolidate as a disease, thus maintaining the homeostasis of the organism. As a holistic healing system, its purpose is to ensure maximum well-being by affecting body, mind, and spirit. It offers deep relaxation and relief from tensions and stress, which are directly or indirectly responsible for the appearance of many health problems. Shiatsu is not a substitute for medical advice and treatment but can help alongside it.
