Maria Svarbova, a photographer from Slovakia, continues the photo series, started in 2014, developing a distinct visual approach to the presentation of the space around the pool, enhanced through her great interest in sterile and simple geometries. Human figures are used to further this message as they appear to freeze a moment of intense action. They become part of their environment and lose any special personality and emotion.
The artist, describing her work, tells us: "The series gives the feeling of an artificial distancing, through intense images with red and blue pigments, while others are covered by a slightly yellow shade, which becomes even more intense with the reflections of the surface water". And he continues: "Despite the retro setting, the images, in some strange way, look as if they were taken somewhere completely alien." By freezing the moment, the viewer is given the opportunity to focus on the visual satisfaction and at the same time, through the symmetries of the compositions, the ethereal peace.
