Don't 1: Do not combine benzene peroxide with retinol<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Benzene Peroxide, a common ingredient in acne products, causes the skin to dry out due to the exfoliation it does. Retinol is also used to treat acne, so the combination can create rough, scaly skin. You can use benzene peroxide in the morning and retinol at night. If the benzene peroxide is causing you extra dryness you can use something with salicylic acid or a natural ingredient.<\/p>\n

Don't 2: Don't combine retinol with sunscreen<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Again we're talking about retinol, which is a natural form of vitamin A. When sunlight hits retinol, it renders it ineffective. Thus, the value of the retinol is lost and you are not protected by the SPF.
\nIf you want to use both wear it sunscreen<\/a> during the day and use the retinol at night.<\/p>\n

Don't 3: Do not combine vitamin C with high levels of alpha hydroxy acids<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are fruit acids and milk sugars, so their combination packs a very high acidity content. Vitamin C also comes from fruits, so they are rich in acids. The combination of these creates more acidity than necessary, resulting in the high levels of acid irritating your skin, making it red and dry. Use vitamin C during the day and AHAs at night. You can put Vitamin C under your sunscreen to enhance protection against UVA rays.<\/p>\n
