Stress is something that unfortunately accompanies us everywhere and leaves its marks on our skin. Today I'm going to show you the ways stress can damage your skin, encouraging you to relax and try to manage it.<\/p>\n

Acne & other skin problems<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Have you noticed that on days when you are very stressed you break out some pesky pimples? Stress stimulates the production of hormones such as cortisol. When cortisol levels rise, adiposity increases. Sometimes this can cause acne even in people who have never had an acne problem before. If there are already signs of acne, then they may become more intense. Also, stress can worsen or trigger the first appearance of skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis.<\/p>\n

Lack of sleep<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Poor and insufficient sleep due to stress makes the condition worse. Sleep is essential for skin regeneration. What the day causes, the night repairs. Stress, excessive fatigue and insufficient hours of sleep affect the condition of our skin: black circles<\/a> and puffiness under the eyes, fine lines and dull skin. These are some of the effects of lack of sleep on our face.<\/p>\n

Wrinkles<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Chronic stress causes wrinkles to appear, such as frown lines on the forehead and next to the mouth. When we are stressed, we adopt facial expressions that reflect our mood. Muscles contract and wrinkles deepen.<\/p>\n

What to do<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Life would definitely be more beautiful if stress didn't exist. But it is practically impossible to avoid it completely. The good news is that with the help of experts and the right treatments we can fight the symptoms that stress causes on our skin. But we also have to do some things for ourselves:
\nWe find ways to calm down by doing things that please us.
\nWe try to sleep well and properly, ideally 7 to 8 hours.
\nWe take care of our skin daily with gentle cleansing and keep it hydrated.
\nWe make exercise a part of our lives. In this way, we enhance the secretion of endorphins, which are the hormones of happiness, and stimulate the microcirculation of the skin.
