  1. Do your research. Find a reputable salon with an excellent training program.<\/li>\n
  2. If your wallet allows, make an appointment with the head stylist.<\/li>\n
  3. Go au naturale. Come with your hair dry and in its natural state. This helps the stylist see your "real hair" (curly, straight, etc.) to better determine the cut.<\/li>\n
  4. Be on time! Arriving on time allows for a full consultation before washing and cutting. If you arrive late, you are often headed straight for the sink.<\/li>\n
  5. Don't be shy, ask your stylist questions. Does my hair suit this cut or style? will it be easy to maintain? how will the natural process of hair growth affect the appearance?<\/li>\n
  6. If you have a specific cut or style in mind bring it along. The stylist may have some ideas to adapt it to your face or hair type.<\/li>\n
  7. Ask your stylist for a tutorial on the process so you can replicate them at home. Pay attention to the products used and feel free to ask if there is a less expensive version that does the same job. Sometimes salons are committed to promoting certain products.<\/li>\n
  8. Relax and enjoy. This time should be to get away from it all and treat yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
